What this example shows

  • The darkest hexagons trace a clear positive band — temperature and pressure rise together in this dataset.
  • Density is highest in the middle of the range, where the sensor spent most of its time.
  • The same 40 points as a scatter plot would already show overlap. At a few thousand points, hexbin becomes the only readable option.
