What this site does and does not collect. In short: your chart data stays in your browser, and the only cookies come from Google — for advertising and analytics.

01The short version
FastChart is a client-side tool. The data you paste into the editor is parsed and drawn into a chart by JavaScript running inside your own browser. It is never transmitted to our servers, never written to a database, and never visible to us.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses or the contents of your spreadsheets. The only third party that may set cookies on this site is Google, for advertising and analytics.
02The data you paste into charts
When you paste CSV, TSV, JSON or spreadsheet rows into the editor, that text stays in your browser tab. Parsing, chart layout and rendering all happen locally, which is also why the preview updates instantly and works with no network connection.
When you export a chart as PNG, SVG or PDF, the file is generated in your browser and saved directly by your browser. The chart image is not routed through our servers.
Closing or reloading the tab discards your data. We keep no copy of it, so we cannot recover a chart for you and cannot share your data with anyone else.
03Where our sample data comes from
Every chart type page and worked example ships with a small sample dataset so you can see the chart before pasting your own numbers. These datasets are illustrative figures written by us for demonstration purposes — realistic in shape and magnitude, but not sourced from any real company, individual or third-party data provider.
They contain no personal data, and none of them are derived from data submitted by visitors to this site. You can safely edit, copy or discard them.
04Advertising and Google AdSense
This site is free to use and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve the ads you see on FastChart.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Google may also use a device identifier or similar technology to track user behaviour for the purposes of ad measurement, ad selection and reporting.
These advertising cookies are set by Google, not by us. We do not receive the contents of your charts, your identity, or your browsing history from Google — we only see aggregate, anonymous reporting such as impression and revenue totals.
05How to opt out of personalised advertising
You can choose not to receive personalised advertising. Opting out does not remove ads from the site; it means the ads you see will no longer be tailored to your interests.
- Turn off personalised advertising for your Google account and browser at google.com/settings/ads (Google Ads Settings).
- Opt out of personalised advertising from many participating vendors at once at aboutads.info (the Digital Advertising Alliance) or youronlinechoices.eu if you are in the EU.
- Block or delete cookies for this site directly in your browser settings. Because charts render locally, blocking cookies does not break any feature of the chart editor.
- Use your browser’s private or incognito mode, which discards advertising cookies when the window is closed.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google presents a consent notice before setting non-essential advertising cookies, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through that notice.
06Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the site performs. It records page views, referrers, country, and general device and browser type. It does not use cookies and does not build a cross-site profile of individual visitors.
We also use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-BF6CEBQS3S). Unlike Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics does set cookies — typically named _ga and _ga_* — which store a randomly generated identifier so returning visits can be recognised as the same browser. It records the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type.
You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by blocking cookies for this site in your browser settings, or by using a tracker-blocking extension. The chart editor works normally either way.
We use analytics only in aggregate, to decide which chart types and guides to build next. We never upload the data you paste into the editor to any analytics service.
08Children’s privacy
This site is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to delete on request.
09Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data or which third-party services it uses, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
