Heatmap Generator questions

How should my data be laid out?
Like a spreadsheet grid: the first column labels each row, the header row labels each column, and the cells hold the numbers. Paste it straight from Excel or Sheets.
Can I show the numbers inside the cells?
Yes — turn on value labels and each cell prints its value, switching to white text on dark cells so it stays legible.
How is the colour scale calculated?
Linearly between the minimum and maximum value in the whole grid, using the active palette. Every cell is therefore comparable to every other cell.
