FAQ

Timeline Maker questions

Do my rows need to be in date order?
No — events are sorted by date automatically, so paste them in any order.
What happens if two events are close together?
Labels alternate above and below the axis and stagger at two heights, which keeps most dense timelines readable. Very tight clusters may still need shorter labels.
Timeline or Gantt chart?
A timeline marks single points in time. A Gantt chart shows work that spans a start and end date. If your rows have durations, use the Gantt chart maker.
