Timeline Maker questions
- Do my rows need to be in date order?
- No — events are sorted by date automatically, so paste them in any order.
- What happens if two events are close together?
- Labels alternate above and below the axis and stagger at two heights, which keeps most dense timelines readable. Very tight clusters may still need shorter labels.
- Timeline or Gantt chart?
- A timeline marks single points in time. A Gantt chart shows work that spans a start and end date. If your rows have durations, use the Gantt chart maker.
